Hi Doug! So excited to plan next WDW trip 6/13 and to see you can help!! Working on giving up the "play till you drop" mode, this will be our first in June. Planning to take breaks for resort pool and WP. Will have our car, should we drive to/fro

    Adrienne,

As you can clearly tell from my posts on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel, I am a HUGE fan of taking kids back to the resort in the early afternoon for a pool/nap/quiet time break.

As my kids get older the naps have gone by the wayside. But we still get a lot out of these breaks. Basically we navigate our way back towards our room around noon. We change and go straight to the pool for at least an hour of fun. Then it is back to the room, clean up the kids, and then quiet time. No TV, no iPads, no excitement. Reading, resting, a snack, and maybe some drawing or coloring. I really think this is crucial to keeping the entire family rested and recharged during the vacation.

As for using a car, a lot depends on where you are staying, and where you are going. Assuming you are staying at a Disney resort, there are a few rules that usually apply. It is usually better to use Disney transportation when traveling to the Magic Kingdom. It is usually best to use your car when going to Downtown Disney. When traveling to Epcot using your car can be a big time saver and convenience. As you can imagine, that last rule would not apply if you were in the Beach Club, where you could walk to the park, but you get the idea.

Why don't you write me back with where you are going to stay and I can give you ideas of when to/not to use your car?

I can't wait to get your next question!

    Have a magical vacation!
