Hi Doug! Coming day after X-mas for kids' first trip (6, 4, 2 yo). Grandma will babysit for mom & dad to be alone 1 night. We missed our 10 yr anni & want to do something special to make it up. Already have Cali Grill res. Other thoughts for after

    Jerry,

When dining at the California Grill, I try not to go too far away since watching the Wishes fireworks show is a big part of the evening so special. Even if your dinner ended hours earlier (Wishes is at 10pm at that time of year), you are still allowed to return to the restaurant to watch the show from the outdoor viewing deck.

For my wife and I there are a few things to do.

Wine: Sometimes we go to the Wave to try one of their wine flights. It is an affordable way to try new wines.

Shopping: Consider going into the Magic Kingdom to do some shopping along Main Street. You could also go to Downtown Disney, but that would take you away from the fireworks.

Immaturity: Would it be so wrong for you to celebrate 10 years of marriage by acting like 10 year olds? Pick a favorite park and try out all those thrill rides that you never get to ride when you are in the parks with your kids!

Desserts: Maybe drinks aren't your thing? Well if you have a sweet tooth, the Wave also has dessert samplers with three smaller portions of different desserts.

Go carousing!: This is going to take you away from the Magic Kingdom, but maybe you go to Jellyrolls on the BoardWalk for some piano bar fun? Or catch Yee Haw Bob at Port Orleans for fun entertainment? And if you want to be a bit more active, maybe go to Splitsville when it opens at Downtown Disney for bowling, billiards, gaming, or the nightlife!

There are other activities. What do you like to do? Write me back and tell me some of what you do on great date nights at home and I will see if I can recommend the like!

    Have a magical vacation!
