Hi Doug. I booked our family vacation for the last week of August, because I heard it was less crowded than earlier August. I just read your answer to Mary and you said the first 3 weeks were best as the last week is VERY crowded. Is that correct?

    Kerri,

My experience is that it ticks up a bit at the end of August. I have been there both at the start, the middle, and the end, and it just has seemed that way to me.

Of course there are those that assume it is lower because some school districts around the country have started moving up the start time of their school year.

Since Disney does not post official crowd estimates, you can never be 100% sure, but one thing is certain. No matter when you go in August, it is going to be crowded.

Regardless of who is right, I would not bother yourself with moving your vacation dates around in August, now that you have your plans set. The advantages, if I am correct, are not that significant. The only way to move to lower crowd sizes would be to move your trip into September or October.

Sorry if I caused you any grief on this! Glad to field any follow-up questions!

    Have a magical vacation!
