Hi Doug!!! Anniversary #2 and we are heading back to WDW. We are planning on having a "Date Night" away from the rest of our (my) family traveling with us in DTD. Where would you recommend for us that we can get reservations not too far in advanc

    Samantha,

    My favorite Canadian bride!

So glad to hear that you are returning for your anniversary! What a great place to celebrate, especially after your AMAZING wedding there! Thanks again for letting me part of your special day (and party the night before!).

So it sounds like you are looking for a 'getaway' meal in Downtown Disney? Having met your fun families, I would not be surprised to find them at Raglan Road, enjoying the top-notch food and amazing entertainment. So where could you go to get away from them for a date night?

    I have three suggestions.

    Bongos
    - This place can make you feel as if you have been transported back in time to an episode of Miami Vice (in a good way). The restaurant can get a bit louder for a quiet dinner for two, but the Cuban cuisine is a nice change.

The Dining Room at Wolfgang Puck Cafe - The most upscale of my suggestions, and the only truly secluded dining experience in Downtown Disney. It is also decidedly more expensive, but this is your option of you want fine dining and an uber-romantic setting.

House of Blues - Of my three suggestions, this is my favorite for you. It has a decidedly rustic bayou feel to the place in the very best way possible. It is adult cool, and frankly I just love the food there. You are also going to find that it is a bit of an escape from the more kid-rich environments of most other Downtown Disney restaurants, and since it is down at the far end of the area, by Cirque du Soleil, you are less likely to run into your family.

    How are those for suggestions?

Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
