Megan,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
When my girls were younger, we used a side-by-side double stroller as well. It made life much easier, as it not only gave them a place to sit in the shade, but we could also navigate through crowds without worrying about them getting jostled.
Unfortunately, I think you will find that you are going to have to collapse your stroller when you get on the
Disney Skyliner. Single seat strollers and double strollers that have front-and-back seats will roll into the Skyliner car just fine, but the side-by-side variety will have to be folded up. The doors to the Skyliner only give you about 30", and even after that it will make sitting on the facing benches basically impossible.
I am sure that is not what you wanted to hear, but I will urge you not to avoid the Skyliner for a variety of reasons. First off, you will likely have to collapse your stroller on most other forms of Disney Transportation, except the monorail and some of the boats. Secondly, even with this one inconvenience you will find the Skyliner to be a wonderful way to get to your magical adventures. The ability to jet between your resort and both
EPCOT and
Disney’s Hollywood Studios makes this one of my favorite new additions to Walt Disney World!
BONUS TIPWe found that the double wide stroller would not fit through the door to our resort hotel room without being collapsed. For that reason, I recommend when you get settled into your room at the start of your trip that you figure out a convenient place to store the stroller at night. Consider a place where it can stay, even if it is wet from being caught in one of those afternoon rain showers.
