Ahoy, Sandra, and welcome aboard planDisney!
I’m glad that you sailed over with your question so we can help you get in ship shape for an amazing
Disney Cruise Line vacation. You are wise to confirm your
required identification documents since it is one of the details we want to make sure you have in order.
Sandra, in order to sail out of Miami to the Bahamas, you will need either an original valid U.S. Passport OR an original or copy of your state-issued birth certificate AND Government-issued photo ID. Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/2010 are NOT acceptable. So, if your birth certificate is issued prior to that date, you will need to secure another form of identification listed
here on the Disney Cruise Line website. Sandra, please keep in mind that hospital-issued birth certificates are not acceptable.
Now that we have this important detail covered, let me tell you about one of the best parts of a
Disney cruise to the Bahamas – the magical stop at
Disney Castaway Cay. Spending a day on Disney’s private island is like spending a day in paradise! One of the best ways to explore the island, and one of my top tips, is to purchase the
Castaway Cay Getaway Package. This port adventure includes snorkel equipment for the day, a float or inner-tube rental for the day, and a bicycle rental for one hour. You can explore the crystal clear 20-acre snorkel lagoon located at Family Beach, take a ride around the island (be sure to make a stop at the Observation Tower), and relax while floating above the tranquil water while taking in the beautiful views. And the best part is you can experience all of this magic on your own schedule.
Sandra, we would love to see you sail back by and ask our Disney Cruise Line planDisney specialists,
Adrianna and
Tracie, any planning questions you may have!
Wishing you smooth sailing in the days ahead,
Shannon
