Hi Danielle!
I completely agree with you on packing light! The first few trips to Walt Disney World we packed a huge backpack filled with every possible need that we may have in the parks. Now that the kids are older, and we have a bit more experience, we pack a bit lighter.
You can get away with bringing very little to the parks, especially given that your
Magic Band will get you into the park, resort and can have charging privileges linked. You can even buy merchandise in the parks, using your Magic Band, and have packages shipped back to your resort for pick up so you don't have to lug bags around the park.
I also remember lugging a camera, video camera and phone all to the parks years ago, but now with smartphones you don't need three separate devices. You can also buy
Memory Maker so you can have all PhotoPass photographers take pictures and then you can order them when you get back home.
I usually like to bring a water bottle, so I can refill it at the water fountains. I also like to bring sunscreen, a hat, my phone, snacks and a rain poncho. If you like to get character autographs, you may also want to bring an autograph book and pen. If you are a pin collector, you can bring a lanyard with your pins to trade with cast members or other guests.
Magically,
Stacy
