We don't like to be held down to a schedule when vacationing and tend not to be heavy eaters when we travel to Disney. Would you recommend the new quick service dining option? How much money could we save? Can we add it to package when we arrive?

The quick service dining plan is a new optional add-on to the Disney Magic Your Way vacation package. With the QSDP, each guest in your party will get two quick service (also known as counter service) meals and two snacks per night of your stay. If you are not big eaters and do not want to be tied down to table service reservations, then the QSDP could make good sense for you. Disney advertises that this plan could save guests up to 20% on their dining costs. The actual savings will, of course, vary a bit depending on your own eating habits and where you choose to dine. Moms Panelist Michelle, who is a financial planner and numbers whiz, did calculations based on her own personal eating habits and found that she would save about 13% on the QSDP. If you are at WDW for a long visit, that savings could add up. Even if you felt that the cost of the plan was a wash, it might be beneficial from a budgeting standpoint to have your meals paid for in advance.

None of the Disney Dining Plan options can be added to your package after you arrive at WDW. You must arrange for this, or any Dining Plan, at least 10 days before you leave home. For more information or to add the plan to your package, call Disney reservations at 407-W-DISNEY.
