Ahoy, Colleen!
Welcome back aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think the vacation I spent the most time researching was my family's Alaskan adventure back in 2015! I booked this sailing on opening day and loved planning every magical detail of our visit to the Last Frontier on the Disney Wonder. When I look back, all the time spent was well worth it because my crew had an incredible week exploring Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan and cruising through the breathtaking Tracy Arm Fjord.
Colleen, you've asked a great question about
Disney Cruise Line's Vacation Protection Plan. Purchasing this insurance plan before your final payment is made allows you to be protected from cancellations or circumstances out of your control both during your vacation and the planning process. The main advantages include reimbursement for Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Baggage Loss or Delay and coverage for Accidents, Sickness or an Emergency(including transport) while onboard. Also, Disney Cruise Line offers a "Cancel For Any Reason" component, which will allow you to receive a credit up to 75 percent of your cancellation fee amount to be used for a future sailing within one year (restrictions apply and there is no cash value).
If you have purchased this plan or want to add it on to your cruise package, I suggest looking over the
Specific Terms, Conditions and Exclusions on the Disney Cruise Line website. Like I mentioned above, the plan can be included in your cruise package up until final payment is made by calling (800) 951-3532.
I'm so glad you sailed over to "sea" us again, Colleen. I'm sure you'll have a list of questions about your Alaskan adventure, so please send them our way. We can't wait to help!
