Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Mary!
Jeff Galloway has become a legend in the
runDisney ranks, and millions of people have turned to running by following his Run Walk Run method. He's very inspiring, and I love seeing him at runDisney events, including the
Health & Fitness Expo. In his book, "Half-Marathon Complete Guide for Women," he explains his interval training in detail, and he recommends a Run Walk Run Timer (which can be worn with a coordinating band that he sells on his website). I've actually purchased the same one on Amazon called the Gymboss Interval Timer and Stopwatch. It's great because it's easy to use, it's cheap, and it clips right on my waistband. I've tried downloading apps to my phone or Apple Watch, but they can drain your battery quickly on a long run. A friend of mine wears the Polar M430 GPS Running Watch, which is pricier but wears like a watch.
Other items I always have on my runDisney packing list are: Balega socks, hydration tablets, an external charger, and of course a Sparkle Skirt! Every runDisney Princess needs one of these! My Moms Panel friend,
Kate, tells me I have to treat myself to some wireless earbuds before my next race (I always have those white wires hanging down in all of my runDisney
PhotoPass Photos)!
The
Disney Princess Enchanted 10K was my first runDisney race, and it's my sentimental favorite. Good luck, and feel free to come back with more questions, Mary!
