Ahoy, Yvette!
The
Star Wars cruises coming in 2016 on the Disney Fantasy look like a galaxy of fun! You are planning to travel from far, far, away to take this vacation, and I understand your wanting to arrive a day or two early.
If you would like to stay at the Walt Disney World Resort, it looks like your family could get a good rate at either
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort or
Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside Resort. Both of these resorts have rooms that could accommodate the size of your traveling party. Please keep in mind that if you are planning to use Disney Cruise Line transportation from your resort to the port, it costs $35 per person, one way.
If your family would like to spend a few days relaxing near the beach before your cruise, you could always opt to stay at one of the many hotels near Port Canaveral. In which case, you might try renting a vehicle at the airport and returning it to the rental car facility near the port.
Either way, I am positive that your Star Wars cruise will be out of this world! Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more cruise planning questions.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
