Ahoy, Jennifer!
It is wonderful to hEAR from you again! I'm always double and triple checking the "All Aboard" time because I don't want to be the one left on the dock taking a picture of my cruise ship sailing away! It sounds like you are also a little nervous about cutting it too close when you venture ashore in
Grand Cayman on your upcoming cruise. Rest assured, you will not be left waving bon voyage from the pier since you've chosen a Disney Cruise Line sponsored Port Adventure. This is one of many details you do not have to worry about when booking directly through Disney, and it will definitely give you peace of mind when you leave the ship to enjoy a day of fun on the island. In fact, I witnessed a Disney sponsored excursion running about ten minutes late on my last cruise, and the Guests were all calmly walking back to the ship since the tour operator let the crew know that they were held up.
Grand Cayman does not have a pier for the ship to dock so a tender service will be used. Your Port Adventure will meet on the ship, and you'll all board the same tender over to the island. Specific instructions will be included on your Port Adventure tickets that will be left in your stateroom. The ride over to the island is only about 10 to 15 minutes, and the tenders run continuously throughout the day. The last tender (unless a Disney Cruise Line excursion is running late) will be at 5:30 p.m. All the details you need to know about tendering will be included with your Personal Navigator, the cruise newsletter, the night before you arrive.
Quick tip: I was able to capture some cool images of the Disney Fantasy in Grand Cayman last month when we tendered over, so try to sit by the water and have your camera ready for some unique photo opportunities!
It was a pleasure assisting you again, Jennifer.
Have a magical day!
Nancy
