Welcome back, Megan! I love spending a few days at the Walt Disney World Resort before we head out to sea with Disney Cruise Line.
Currently, the ships do not use
MagicBands. You may have seen photos of kids wearing what looks like a MagicBand onboard. The
Youth Clubs feature Oceaneer Bands that are used as kids are checked in and out when their parents drop them off and pick them up. Kids will receive those when they arrive at port and finish their registration in the Youth Clubs. Those must be returned at the end of the sailing, or if your kids would like to keep them as a souvenir, they can be purchased at the end of the cruise.
Memory Maker is a fun way to save all of the photo memories of your time in the Walt Disney World parks. I'm sorry to say that the parks photos and the cruise photos are different systems, so Memory Maker is not available on the ships. The ships do offer, however, a great number of photo packages that can be either pre-purchased before you sail (saving a bit of money over the onboard cost), or purchased onboard. Individual prints can be purchased too. The big difference is that the cruise photos must be purchased while onboard, as they're not accessible once you leave the ship. Check out the link to the My Cruise Photos website on the
Photography page of Disney Cruise Line's site.
If you haven't already, be sure to book the cruise ground transfers to whisk you away from the resorts to the cruise port. While they do carry an additional cost, my family and I use these every time because it's so convenient to let Disney do the driving! Happy planning, Megan!
