Are doing our first time trip to WDW in October. I already have our park tickets. I purchased gift cards at Sam's Club online (they are paper cards-not plastic). Can I link these paper e gift cards to my Magicband so I can make purchases at theme park?

Hey there, hi there, Krista! We're so glad to have you visit us!

Oh my goodness, how exciting that your very first trip to Walt Disney World is just a few months away! With so much to think of and so much to plan for, I'm glad you came to us with this question. It's one I've had to ask myself in the past, so I'm pretty familiar with the answer.

Disney Gift Cards are an excellent way to keep track of spending and budget for Disney theme park essentials. Although you can't link the gift cards to your MagicBands, there's a way to use your MagicBand and then pay off your charges with your gift cards.

As a guest at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you can charge meals, souvenirs, and other things on your MagicBand. When you return to your resort in the evening, you can take your e-gift cards to the front desk, and they will pay off your charges using the gift cards.

A quick word of warning - there is a limit as to how much you can charge on your band before they will go ahead and process charges through your credit card on file. Check at the front desk of your resort what that amount is, and as long as you don't exceed that, you can pay it off at the end of the day with your gift cards.

I hope your first visit to Walt Disney World is practically perfect in every way, Krista!
