WE are doing our first and possibly only trip to DW We are debating hotel choices. My husband and 7 year old girl twins How far from MK is the Animal kingdom hotel? We are debating between the Poly and the Animal my kids LOVE animals is it worth it?

Hi, Tricia!  If convenience is important, I would definitely choose the Polynesian over Animal Kingdom Lodge - and I love Animal Kingdom Lodge!  The Polynesian has access to the monorail, which gets you right into the Magic Kingdom and then to EPCOT.  From Animal Kingdom, I always allow about an hour from your room door into the park. It's not that you're far away, but with bus transportation, it sometimes takes a bit longer due to multiple stops.

What you could do is book your first or last night at Animal Kingdom Lodge.  I do this sometimes with my kids, and we might do something really indulgent, like order room service breakfast while we sit on the balcony to watch the animals on the savannah.  It's an extra treat!

The plus to Animal Kingdom Lodge is obviously the animals if you are in a savannah view room, it gives you all day access to the animals.  But, how much time are you going to actually spend enjoying them?  You can visit Animal Kingdom Lodge anytime at all during your stay and see the animals, and there are several awesome restaurants there that will make you want to visit!

    Have a great time!
