We are doing 2 days in the park before our 7 day cruise and then some days in the park when we return. When we leave the resort before the cruise they make sure you are at the port in plenty of time before leaving? This is our first one.

    Welcome back, Rebecca!

You've got a Land and Sea vacation in the plans, which is my family's favorite way of vacationing with Disney too! Each time we set sail with Disney Cruise Line from Port Canaveral, we make sure to include either a few days before or after our cruise in the parks at the Walt Disney World Resort. Adding that extra Disney magic makes the vacations even more memorable!

If you've pre-booked Disney Cruise Line's optional Ground Transfers, they'll take care of all of the details of transporting your family from your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel to Port Canaveral on the morning of your sailing. Even with the extra cost, I promise it's worth every penny to let Disney do the driving! Since they can't finalize the details until they know how many other guests at Walt Disney World will be on your sailing too, you won't get information about transfer times until the night prior to the cruise. That night, you'll receive a note in your resort room letting you know the exact pick-up time at your resort, where to meet and what time to have your checked luggage ready to send ahead to the ship. Normally, our bags had to be packed and tagged with the Disney Cruise Line tags by 8:00 a.m. and simply set inside our resort room door. We didn't even have to be there for them to be picked up. We just kept day bags with us to continue enjoying a leisurely morning and breakfast at the resort until we got picked up for the cruise. Usually the motor coach pick-up times are anywhere from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., just to give you a rough estimate. But, again, your exact time will be announced the night prior. The travel time is just over an hour to the port, but your family will be fully entertained onboard the bus with Disney Cruise Line videos and classic Disney cartoons and trivia.

I hope that helps as you continue to plan this exciting adventure at sea, Rebecca. Please stop back again with any other questions over the next part of the year before you set sail. We're happy to help!
