We are doing a combination Disney World/Disney Cruise trip in a few weeks. We will be staying at Shades of Green for 4 nites, and then heading out of Port Canaveral for our Bahamas cruise. Recommendations on transportation from airport to SOG to cruise?

    Ahoy Darlene!
Welcome back to the Moms Panel!  I'm so excited to hear you are gearing up for a surf and turf Disney vacation very soon!  I checked with my Moms Panel friend, Ashley who has stayed at SOG and she suggested either a car rental or Mears transportation to the resort.  If you do rent a car, Avis, Budget & Hertz have locations at both the airport and close by the cruise terminal.  You can drop your car off at the office, and a free shuttle is provided over to the port.  Shuttles back to the office are also available for when you disembark.
If you decide to use Mears, you can use Disney Cruise Line ground transportation to the port from either the Poly or Grand Floridian.  48 hours before your departure, you can call (800) 951-3532 to find out your exact pick-up time so you can be waiting at the resort for the motor coach.  Round trip vouchers are currently priced at $70 per person and will include your trip back to the Orlando airport.  The drive to the port is about an hour to an hour & half depending on traffic, and your motor coach will be comfy and cool!
I hope one of my suggestions works for your family, Darlene!  If you do decide to book DCL transportation, please give them a call at (800) 951-3532 as soon as possible to reserve your spot!
Have a magical day and bon voyage!
