We are doing a big trip in June and I am lost on how to plan packing! There are two adults and three children (ages 18 months, 6, and 7). We will be spending three full days at Disney World and then a 7 night cruise (I believe the ship is Fantasy). Help!

Hello Jeremy!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Land and sea vacations are my most FAVORITE way to get the best of everything Disney.  I am so excited you will be able to experience it all this summer!  I must confess, packing is always my biggest challenge.  One thing I have learned over the course of my cruising is you don't need quite as much as you think!

My starting point now is to review the Packing Lists for my sailing provided by Disney Cruise Line.  I use this as a checklist while throwing things into our suitcases (second confession - usually the night before we leave!).

We try to keep our bags light so that we have plenty of room for all the treasures we find on our vacation.  To do this, I pack clothes that can be worn interchangeably and then take advantage of the Laundry Services onboard a couple days into our sailing.  Detergent and dryer sheets are available for a small fee, but you can also pack these if you prefer.  Disney Cruise Line also offers Full-Service Laundry Services for a fee.

Here are a couple of my best tips for packing, especially with little ones.  First, pack two swimsuits.  It allows one suit to dry while you use another.  If you have Port Adventures at the beach and spend a lot of time at the pool, this is a must.  Also, bring clothes pins to hang more to dry on your clothesline in the bathroom.  Second, pack a small carry-on to board the ship.  Be sure to include sunscreen and swimsuits so you can enjoy pool time while you wait for your stateroom.  Put diapers and anything else you may need right away for your littlest one in this bag.  Last, bring two pairs of comfortable shoes!

    Enjoy making magic memories!  Angie
