We are doing Alaska for our 6th Disney cruise. How are the ship's inside temperatures while cruising Alaska? (dining rooms, theaters, staterooms). Are we going to need different clothing options than for shore excursions?

Welcome aboard the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Julie!
I am thrilled you'll get to experience exciting and beautiful Alaska the best way possible - with Captain Mickey!  My family and I cruised Alaska this past summer and it was one of our favorite vacations yet.  My kids picked Alaska over Europe and I was skeptical; we are from Minnesota so vacationing to a COLD climate was not my idea of how to spend a summer trip.  I am glad they talked us into it because it was truly something to see!
My best advice I can give you for cruising in Alaska is layers, layers, layers!  Inside the Disney Wonder you should be comfortable and warm.  I have seen guests wear shorts and t-shirts but also jeans and sweatshirts depending on their personal preference.  We wore jeans with long sleeved tops or sweatshirts and we were comfortable.  It did get a little toasty if we were sitting somewhere in direct sunlight.
During the end of August the temperature can average between mid-40s and mid-60s throughout the day.  I would recommend coming prepared with a waterproof jacket to protect yourself from any moisture.  If you are used to the Florida warmth and sun I would pack several layers for your trip and throw in a hat and mittens as well to keep comfortable.  You will need them if taking a Port Adventure to any glacier for sure as the temperature can be even colder in these icy locations.  I also highly recommend some good, waterproof shoes and lots of extra socks!  Being prepared with these items will help you enjoy your Port Adventures and stay warm while outside on the deck if the weather turns colder.  After all, you wouldn't want to be an ice queen and miss out on the Frozen Deck Party!

Enjoy the wilds of Alaska! Bon voyage! Angie
