Welcome back, Nicholas!
My family and I have enjoyed our
Disney Wonder cruises in the
Mexican Riviera over the past few years. One of our favorite ports of call is
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. My husband and I got engaged there many, many years ago, so when we sail there with Disney now, it's fun to enjoy the sights with our children!
Cabo San Lucas is a tendering port, as you mentioned, which means that the Wonder will drop anchor out in the bay, and guests will take smaller tender boats from the ship to the docks. Guests are welcome to go off the ship in the tenders throughout the day and return on their own time as well.
Port Adventure groups will meet on the ship and travel off on tenders together to begin their adventures. The tenders arrive at a dock across from the shopping downtown area. There are some shops right off the dock, but to get to the downtown area across the bay, you'll just follow the sidewalk around. It's a nice 10 minute walk. There aren't shuttles taking guests, but it's totally walkable. However, bring water bottles. It is hot, no matter what time of year you go, and you'll want to stay well hydrated. In fact, I did faint in Cabo once from the heat and not staying well hydrated, so I've learned my lesson! Water and sunscreen!
If you're planning to enjoy Cabo on your own that day, I'd recommend a fun little spot for lunch right on the sand called The Office. We've eaten there a few times and love that we can have our toes in the sand while we dine with a gorgeous view of Cabo's El Arco (arch in the rocks) and the Disney Wonder in the bay.
Have fun on this trip, Nicholas!
