Hi Debra!
Welcome back to planDisney! I happen to have a fourteen-year-old in my house and it can be a tough age. In a lot of ways they want to be an adult, but they haven’t lost all the Peter Pan in their hearts, and they aren’t completely ready to grow up.
I don’t know about the kids in your group, but one of my son’s favorites when we eat out is chicken tenders, and typically they are found on the children's menu. Debra, if you’ve never tried the kid's chicken noodle soup that is available at many table service locations, you are missing out. It is a personal favorite of mine. While there is never a guarantee, in my experience, most table service locations at the
Walt Disney World Resort are happy to serve adult portions of children's menu items. Of course, do know this does still come with a corresponding adult price.
If you venture to a quick-service location, anyone can order off the children’s menu at those locations, and you can always order two items to make sure you have enough. My whole family loves to snack at Walt Disney World, so sometimes we will even share a few entrees between us, so we have room to enjoy treats later in the day. You gotta save room for Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bars, Mickey Pretzels, turkey legs, Dole Whip, funnel cake, Mickey Krispie Treats, I could go on and on! Do know that while most places will allow you to share entrees, this would not apply at all-you-care-to-enjoy or family-style locations.
I hope this helps with your planning, Debra, and that the teenagers are relieved they don’t need to eat any fancy adult food! Wishing you a magical vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort!
