Hello Mary,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for visiting us with your question today. How lovely that you are from Florida, and have convenient access to Walt Disney World!
The
Disney Dining Plan grants guests a certain number of meal and snack entitlements to use, based on the number of nights of their stay, along with a resort-refillable mug. My family often adds a dining plan to our Disney World vacation package. I enjoy having it in part because I feel like we end up planning more
advance dining reservations when we're using the dining plan. Delicious and magically themed Disney dining experiences end up being some of our favorite memories of the trip!
Chef Mickey's and
'Ohana are always at the top of my kids request list, just to share a couple of favorites.
You do need to book a vacation package in order to purchase a Disney Dining Plan, so this is not available to guests staying off site. A "vacation package" includes both a Disney Resort and Disney theme park tickets. I'm sorry this didn't work into your plans like you were hoping, Mary. I will say that Disney has been offering some excellent
Special Offers, Deals, & Discounts lately, maybe check them out and see if one of these deals could work for you? There are lots of great
perks of staying at a Disney Resort, and I love the range in categories and prices that are offered.
Maybe you would enjoy the similar convenience of charging all your food purchases with
MagicMobile? You may find you spend the same amount (or even less) when paying out of pocket in this way, than you would when purchasing a dining plan.
Even if you visit the Most Magical Place on Earth without the Disney Dining Plan, I know you'll have a terrific time! I hope this helps give you some alternative ideas. Wishing upon a star that you have a wonderful time, and please
visit me again at planDisney if I can assist with anything further.
Hi ho, hi ho... it's off to fun you go!
Tami
