Aloha, Shannon,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to be celebrating your daughter's "Sweet Sixteen" at "The Most Magical Place on Earth" in August! My daughter chose to celebrate her 16th birthday at Walt Disney World Resort as well, and I can honestly say it was the perfect vacation destination for a special birthday celebration.
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is my favorite place to stay when visiting Walt Disney World Resort. You can't beat traveling to Magic Kingdom Park via the water launch (water taxi) or monorail, tropical theming, amazing dining locations and spacious Guest Rooms. I've previously stayed in Standard Rooms and Rooms with Club-Level Service. Although we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food offerings found in the Club Level Lounge and the personalized service, I would prefer to extend my trip and book a Standard Room. I just asked my now 20-year-old daughter what her preference would be, and she said without hesitation, "I would rather stay longer." Depending on the length of your trip, booking an additional night may give you more time to fully experience all the resort amenities and recreational activities. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with either choice; however, I always try to extend the magic for as long as I possibly can.
Consider pre-ordering a
specialty cake for your daughter's birthday celebration. Cakes can be delivered to your resort room or select Table-Service restaurants. Follow the link I've provided to learn more.
I hope this has been helpful in making the best decision for your family, Shannon. Let us know if you have any new questions that arise. I hope your daughter has a magical "Sweet Sixteen" celebration in August!
Happy Celebrating,
Jodie
