Hello! Is disneyworld card only? My daughters are asking for Dollars as gifts at Christmas and would like to know if they can spend cash in stores or if it’s card only please? Thanks

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

Walt Disney World is ready to accept credit cards, Apple Pay, gift cards, and even cash! If your kids get cash as a present, they can spend it on presents!

When you get to Walt Disney World, they can simply carry the cash around to pay for things, and they will not have a problem. However, if you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, I might have a suggestion that could make your lives easier. When you arrive at your resort hotel, you could put that cash onto your hotel account. When they use their My Disney Experience App to purchase something, Disney first deducts from the positive balance on the resort account. Of course, you would have everyone's money all in one account, so you would have to have an idea of who spent what and when. But since you can look at an itemized bill via the App at any time, you could make it work.

This might not be what you want to do, but I just know that my family loves to travel as light as we can in the parks. Not having a wallet or purse in hand makes for a more carefree day.

Please do feel free to write me back if you have any follow-up questions.
