Ghoulish greetings, Holly!
I'm so glad to see you've Oogie Boogie-d your way over to planDisney with this question. I just love the Halloween festivities at Disney Parks destinations, there's always plenty of mischievous merriment in store!
I want to make sure we're on the same page here, so let me break down all the devilish details.
Oogie Boogie Bash is a separately ticketed event scheduled on select nights at
Disneyland Resort. The party takes place after hours at
Disney California Adventure Park, so it shouldn't interfere with your plans if you have tickets and
theme park reservations for
Disneyland Park on that particular day. You'll want to check the
Hours & Events Calendar for the schedule on your specific travel dates, but it appears that Disneyland Park is scheduled to remain open until midnight around your visit, while Disney California Adventure Park closes early at 6 p.m. on party dates. If you'll be visiting Disney California Adventure Park on the same day an Oogie Boogie Bash is scheduled, you will be asked to leave at 6 p.m. if you don't have a party ticket.
Now, if you're asking about
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party which features
Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade during the event at
Magic Kingdom Park, guests will also be asked to leave if they don't have event tickets. I noticed that there is a party scheduled on the evening of September 15th, which you indicated as your arrival date, so I just want to make sure we are talking about the same event on the correct coast. You'll notice Magic Kingdom Park
hours end at 6 p.m. on evenings when the separately ticketed Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is scheduled.
I'll be visiting
Walt Disney World Resort the week prior and will be leaving Magic Kingdom Park early as the party begins. I know it can be disappointing to have a shorter day in the parks, but I've noticed that wait times and crowd levels are typically lower during the day leading up to a party. If you'll be visiting Magic Kingdom Park and have
Park Hopper Option tickets, you can always head to a second park that day to enjoy a few more hours of fun. Personally, I'll be heading over to Disney Springs to enjoy some dinner and nightlife. You can also spend time enjoying the
Downtown Disney District if you'll be out west at Disneyland Resort and an Oogie Boogie Bash shortens your park day.
I hope this clears up any confusion. If we can be of further assistance please materialize right back here and let us know. We'll be dying to answer any additional questions.
Happy hauntings,
Amy
