Hi An! Welcome to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question. I’m sorry to hear that your Disneyland Resort plans may need to shift. I know how much anticipation goes into planning a Disney trip. Sometimes life hands us an unexpected plot twist along the way, but I’m happy to help you explore your options so you can make the decision that feels right for your plans.
If your reservation is for a
Disneyland Resort Hotel Room Only stay, there is some helpful flexibility built into the policy. When you made your reservation, you would have paid a deposit equal to the first night’s room rate plus applicable taxes and fees. As long as you cancel at least 4 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, you’ll receive a full refund of that deposit. If the cancellation happens within the 4-day window, the deposit is retained as the
cancellation fee. Another option to consider is modifying your reservation rather than canceling it. This lets you keep your deposit in place and simply shift your travel dates. (Just keep in mind that room rates can vary depending on the new dates you choose.)
If you booked a
Disneyland Resort Vacation Package instead, the timelines are a little different. For packages booked more than 31 days before arrival, a $200 deposit is due at booking, and final payment is due 30 days before your trip. Canceling at least 30 days prior results in a full refund, including your deposit. If you cancel between 4 and 29 days before arrival, the $200 deposit becomes the cancellation fee. And if you must cancel 3 days or fewer before your arrival date, the full package price becomes non-refundable. Since package terms can occasionally reflect promotional variations, it’s always a great idea to double-check the confirmation email you received when you booked.
An, no matter when you’re able to visit, the magic will be waiting for you. Whether that means the first glimpse of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a cheerful ride with the Pirates of the Caribbean crew, or the way the lights twinkle along Main Street as evening settles in, your perfect Disneyland day will be ready to welcome you when the timing feels right again.
