I am going to disneyland with a friend I bought a package w/ room and tickets everything is under my account. Each Ticket has the person's name on it. If we both want magic bands does the 2nd person need their own disneyland account

Welcome to planDisney, Joelle! I’m so happy to help you tie up those final planning details before your visit. You’re asking a great question, and the short answer is no, your friend does not need their own Disneyland account in order to use a MagicBand+ during your trip.

One of the most convenient things about MagicBand+ is how flexible it is for groups traveling together. Even if your hotel and tickets are all managed under your My Disney Account, you can still link and manage multiple tickets and MagicBands right from a single phone using the Disneyland app. That means you can keep everything organized in one place without your friend needing to create or log into their own account.

To get started, open the Disneyland app and log in to your account. Tap the menu icon (the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner) and select My Tickets and Passes. Here, you’ll see all of your linked tickets. If needed, you can tap the plus sign in the top right corner and choose Link Tickets and Passes to add any tickets that don’t already appear. You can enter the ticket barcode manually or scan it using your phone’s camera.

Once your tickets are linked, it’s time to connect your MagicBand+. From the menu, scroll down to Account and select MagicBand+. Tap the blue plus sign to link your first band, then assign it to the appropriate ticket. Repeat the process for the second MagicBand+, and you’ll be all set. Each band will be associated with its own ticket, even though everything is managed through your account.

From there, you’ll be able to handle park entry, Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, and MagicBand management all from one device. As a parent, I really appreciate this setup because it allows me to manage plans for my family without everyone needing their own phone. It’s also part of the fun watching MagicBands light up and vibrate during moments like Wondrous Journeys or World of Color Happiness!, or as you tap in for attractions like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

I hope this helps you feel confident and ready for your upcoming Disneyland adventure, Joelle. If any other questions pop up as you count down to your visit, we’re always delighted to help here at planDisney. Have an incredible day filled with magical moments!

    Enjoy your visit,
    David
