Hi Madison,
Welcome to planDisney! We're so glad you stopped by with a question for us.
Multi-day tickets are usually the best value, but since single-day theme park tickets have
variable tiers for pricing it's certainly possible that you might stumble upon two 1-Day Tickets that total less than a
2-Day Ticket when purchased individually. January and February are great examples of this with many single-day tickets falling in the lowest 1-Day Ticket price range. On the other hand, this wouldn't be a great financial move on higher-cost days like the busy spring break period in March when single-day tickets are at the higher end of the variable pricing tiers.
I went ahead and reviewed the
Ticket Calendar and noticed that a 1-Day ticket for a single park on both February 8 and February 9 does indeed total less than a 2-Day Ticket for the same dates. You are certainly welcome to purchase this way if you choose. However, if you plan to purchase Park Hopper tickets I'd recommend you go with the 2-Day Ticket option as you'll save on the cost of two 1-Day Park Hopper tickets purchased a la carte. Keep in mind you'll pay the added cost per day to upgrade to Park Hopper tickets, should you decide to do so when you arrive.
I'd also like to mention that
Disneyland After Dark: Sweethearts’ Nite, a separately ticketed after-hours event, is scheduled at Disneyland Park on Thursday, February 8. As such,
Disneyland Park will close to daytime guests a little earlier that day. This likely accounts for the lower cost 1-Day Ticket on that particular date.
I hope that clears up any confusion, Madison. If we can answer any additional questions please come back and let us know.
Wishing you a magical visit!
Amy
