For Disneyland, do you have to be in the exact park you want the lightening lane for? For example, could I enter California adventure that morning and while I’m in California adventure purchase the lightning lane for a ride in Disneyland park?

Hi Tanya! Welcome to planDisney! I can see that your visit to the parks is almost here! I’m happy to help you get your last-minute details in order so you can have the most magical visit.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass is a phenomenal way to make the most of your time at the Disneyland Resort. My wife and I frequently visit for one or two days at a time, and Lightning Lane Multi Pass has helped us experience all of our must-dos in a single visit, just like Aladdin making the most of his three wishes! One of the great features of Lightning Lane is its flexibility. For example, yes, you can be in Disneyland and use it to reserve a return time for an attraction in Disney California Adventure. Simply access the Lightning Lane tab in the Disneyland app, select the attraction in the other park, and you’re ready to go!

Now, there are a couple of important caveats you should be aware of. First, to access an attraction in a different park, you will need a Park Hopper ticket or a Magic Key. Having a Lightning Lane return time in a different park will not grant you access to that park. Additionally, be mindful of park hopping hours on the date of your visit. Having a Lightning Lane return time in a different park will not allow you to park hop earlier than the designated time. Most days, park hopping begins at 11 a.m., but you should check the park hours for your visit to ensure there haven’t been any changes. Just like timing a perfect jump to lightspeed, planning ahead ensures smooth travels between parks!

Here’s one more Lightning Lane Q-Tip for you, Tanya! Remember, you can potentially hold more than one Lightning Lane reservation at a time. Once you’ve booked a reservation, you can’t book another until either the current reservation is used or two hours have passed since you made it. For example, if you book a Matterhorn Bobsleds reservation at 9:00 a.m. for 4:00 p.m., you can still book another ride (like Haunted Mansion) at 11:00 a.m. without losing your Matterhorn return time. To keep track, I set alarms on my phone or watch to remind me when it’s time to book another reservation because even the best Fairy Godmother needs a little reminder now and then! That way, I never miss out on a chance to hit up my favorite attractions, whether it's racing through Radiator Springs or soaring over London with Peter Pan!

I hope this information helps! I know you will have the most amazing visit. If you have any other questions, please visit us here again at planDisney!

Wishing you a magical visit filled with pixie dust!
