Disneyland & DCA with daughters ages 2.5(79 cm) and 4.5(110 cm). We want the best balance of kid-friendly attractions and thrill rides for parents. What lands and attractions would you prioritize at rope drop and throughout the day using Rider Switch?

    Hello there, welcome to planDisney!

How exciting that you're planning a trip to the "Happiest Place on Earth" with two Princesses!  I always recommend to prioritize your top 3 attractions or character experiences first thing in the morning when you arrive.

If we are heading to Disneyland Park first thing in the morning, we're strolling through Sleeping Beauty Castle to Fantasyland to ride Peter Pan's Flight and Alice in Wonderland.  If we're starting over in Disney California Adventure Park, we love to hit the ground running and head straight to Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!  All of these attractions tend to have longer waits later in the day, so we like to cross them off our list of priorities right when we arrive.

We took several trips when our son was tall enough to experience more of the thrilling attractions, but our daughter did not meet the height requirement.  Rider Switch is such a great option for the adults or older kids to be able to experience those attractions such as Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad or Radiator Springs Racers, allowing you to take turns waiting with your youngest daughter.  Most attractions do offer rider switch, and you can inquire with a Cast Member at the entrance.

You also can filter the list of attractions by height requirement in the Disneyland app.  Open up the app, and navigate to the location icon in the bottom navigation bar.  You can scroll over at the top to "Height," and you'll be able to select attractions that each of your daughters are able to experience based on the height requirement.  We loved to do rider switch for some of the more thrilling attractions such as Incredicoaster in the afternoon while our youngest took a nap in the stroller!

My final recommendation is to explore Lightning Lane Multi Pass if your family is looking to experience as many attractions as possible.  It truly does save valuable time throughout the day with access to shorter wait times!  You can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass in the Disneyland app as soon as you enter the theme parks.

I hope these recommendations are helpful for your upcoming trip!  If you think of any other questions we can help with, don't hesitate to come back to planDisney!

    Have a magical day,
    Melissa
