When will the Disney World Travel Insurance be available?

Wayne, thanks so much for checking in with us about your travel insurance question. Last summer, I fell and injured my ankle a few days before I planned to visit Walt Disney World Resort with my sister. I had never even considered travel insurance before that time, so I was worried over what to do. Luckily, the doctor sprinkled some pixie dust and I was allowed to go as long as I rented a scooter and did not rely on crutches. That one experience taught me how important travel insurance can be!

I just spoke with a wonderful Cast Member to confirm that travel insurance is still not yet offered to guests who book their Walt Disney World Resort stays through Disney Destinations. The Cast Member said they have not been told if or when travel insurance would be offered again. However, I have been advised that if it is again offered, guests who have previously set up their vacations and paid the required deposit will be able to add on travel insurance as long as they have not paid their final payment. Once that final payment has been made, then the travel insurance cannot be added.

I am sorry I do not have a specific date for you, but hopefully the travel insurance will magically appear again soon. Thanks again for stopping by and please let us know if you have any other questions as you continue to plan your visit.
