Hi Misty, and welcome back to planDisney!
It’s always great to see familiar names return to us for more vacation planning guidance. I really enjoy helping Guests like you make the most informed decisions possible so your trip to
Walt Disney World Resort is everything you hope it will be.
Visiting over Thanksgiving is such a special time of year. The weather is usually comfortable, the crowds are buzzing with excitement, and there’s something truly unique about celebrating Thanksgiving surrounded by the spirit of Disney. Even better, the next morning you’ll wake up to see much of the resort already transformed for the holiday season. Visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth during the Most Wonderful Time of the Year? You just can’t beat that combination.
Now, on to your question. You’ve already named some great spots that traditionally serve Thanksgiving-inspired meals, Liberty Tree Tavern, The Diamond Horseshoe, and Garden Grill. In addition to those, several Disney Springs restaurants have historically offered special Thanksgiving menus, and I’d expect similar offerings this year. The ones that come to mind are
The Boathouse,
Wine Bar George,
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’, and
Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant. Each has served its own spin on a traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings in years past. These locations tend to be popular choices because they offer hearty portions, warm atmospheres, and, of course, incredible food. I encourage you to take a peek at the restaurant websites as we get closer to Thanksgiving to see if their website/menu has been updated to reflect a special offering, what would be included, and the cost to expect. When in doubt, a
Turkey Leg is always an option, too!
If you’re looking to enjoy your meal in one of the Disney Resorts Collection hotels, keep an eye out for special holiday menus at
Ale & Compass at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort,
Whispering Canyon Café at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and
Olivia’s Café at Disney’s Old Key West Resort. These locations have also featured Thanksgiving-inspired dishes in prior years.
Don’t forget that
dining reservations can be made up to 60 days in advance and are highly recommended, especially for holiday dining. I’d also suggest checking the
Disney Parks Blog as Thanksgiving approaches since they typically release a full list of restaurants offering special holiday meals and menus.
Misty, I hope this helps you narrow down your Thanksgiving dining plans. If you’d like, send me another question and I can help you build a dining strategy or itinerary to make sure you’re balancing all that delicious food with plenty of park time, too.
Cheers!
Brent
