Hi, I am going to Disney World in September with my son to celebrate his 5th birthday. I think the Disney Photo pass plus is a good investment if I want pictures of my son and I together, instead of me taking picutres of him alone. Any thoughts?

    Hi Haydee,

I love Disney's PhotoPass service for exactly the reason you mention. Generally I am the family photographer and so I have very few photos of me with my children. When we use the PhotoPass photographers, they get the entire family in the shot.

A few things to think about:

    - You can purchase individual PhotoPass shots or a PhotoPass CD. It takes having about 10 good individual pictures to make purchasing the CD pay out.
    - If you know you're going to buy the CD, then you should stop at as many PhotoPass locations as possible to get the most for your money.
    - You can ask the PhotoPass photographers to take pictures using your camera as well as with theirs.
    - I often ask other guests to take pictures of my family. This is a common practice.
    - Even if you get PhotoPass, you should bring your own camera to capture candid shots.

The independent website stitchkingdom.com has something called the "Definitive Guide to PhotoPass." I consider this to be required reading for anyone who thinks that they'll want to use this service. You'll get lots of tips for how to make the most of PhotoPass.

Good luck with your planning. Please let us know if you have additional questions.
