Hi there, Nicole!
This is my first year traveling with a family of seven, now that we added a new grandbaby. I am learning that you have to be a bit creative when it comes to vacationing at
Walt Disney World. But there are ways to make it work.
The first thing would be two separate
resort hotel rooms. You can request adjoining rooms or connecting rooms. While neither are guaranteed, they do try to give priority to families in situations such as yours. With adjoining rooms, one adult would have to be in each room.
Another option are the
deluxe villa resorts. Now, I know we are talking value, and you might think I've lost my mind for a minute when you look at the prices of those rooms, but, with a family of your size, you will need a 2-bedroom villa. The 2-bedroom villa is going to come with a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. While the room itself might be a bit pricier, you have the value of being able to prepare meals in your room. You'll have a full oven/range, regular size refrigerator, a microwave, dishwasher - all you need to make meals at your hotel room. That can save a bundle.
The
Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort start at around $85 per night. You can rent an RV for about $150 per night. This may be one of your least expensive options. It's also a great way to see some things a lot of guests miss - like the ponies that drive Cinderella's Royal Carriage.
I hope I've given you some options that might work for you!
