Janet, thank you for coming to planDisney with your question on
Walt Disney World and
Theme Park Tickets! There have been many changes recently with ticket types and reservation requirements, so you have come to the right place. Let’s take a look at the various options you have when visiting.
Theme park tickets are considered date-based, meaning that you need to choose a day to visit the parks, or if you buy a multiple-day ticket, you will have a date range for when those tickets can be used.
For example, if you were to buy a one-day ticket, you would select the date of your visit and then have three options: selecting the one park to visit; adding the
Park Hopper which allows you to visit multiple parks on the same day; or the Park Hopper Plus which would allow multiple theme parks plus access to the water parks. For a one-day one-park ticket, you would select the date and park at the time of purchase. If you select the Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus, you no longer need to select the park you would like to visit as
park reservations for date-based tickets have been discontinued but park availability is subject to capacity limits.
Let’s say you want to visit for multiple days. You could choose anywhere from two to 10-day tickets. If you chose a two-day ticket, you would select a date coinciding with your visit, maybe the day of your arrival or the day after your arrival, and then you would have a window of days for you to choose from to visit on two different days, and those two days do not have to be consecutive. I.e. You could visit the parks on a Monday and then Wednesday. These tickets also have the same options as previously mentioned above (single park each day, multiple parks each day, or multiple parks and water parks each day).
I hope this information helps, Janet! If you have any additional questions about theme park tickets, please come back to planDisney, we will be happy to assist!
