Disney World offers a number of attractions that involve 3D. I am a glasses wearer and can't see if I remove them. Is there a way to experience these attractions for people who already wear glasses?

    Hi there, Emily,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for bringing your question to us.

As one of my favorite glasses-wearing Characters, Mirabel of Encanto fame likes to say, “Nothing could ever be broken that we can’t fix together!”  So, as a fellow wearer of glasses, I have a few tips to share about how to best enjoy the amazing 3D experiences at Walt Disney World Resort. First of all, did you know that many of the attractions are actually 4D? That’s right; these experiences are a feast for all the senses and Guests are immersed in the magical stories, you will hardly believe your eyes!

Now, the following attractions require special 3D glasses to enjoy them to their fullest.

    In Magic Kingdom Park:
    Mickey's PhilharMagic

    In Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
    Muppet*Vision 3D
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue
    Toy Story Mania!

In Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park:
    Avatar Flight of Passage
It's Tough to be a Bug!

    In EPCOT:
    Remy's Ratatouille Adventure
Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival

I have found that placing the 3D attraction glasses directly over my glasses is possible. If you have more than one pair of glasses, it is easier to wear the 3D glasses over ones with smaller frames. With a little fine-tuning, you will be able to see everything in 3D! And before you know it you will be just like Roz, who sports some retro specs, says "I'm watching you. Always watching."

Different attractions, like Avatar Flight of Passage and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, have 3D glasses that are a little trickier to place over your regular eyeglasses. So, exercise care when putting them on and taking them off since sometimes your eyeglasses might try to come off with them!

Now, as Edna Mode, another Disney Character who dons fabulous glasses likes to say, “Luck favors the prepared.” So, there are some things to remember as you prepare for these attractions. Some attractions, like Avatar Flight of Passage and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, have 3D glasses that are a little trickier to place over your regular eyeglasses. So, exercise care when putting them on and taking them off since sometimes your eyeglasses might try to come off with them! If you are wearing a baseball-style cap, I find that sometimes the glasses will fit better if you remove your cap. Just don’t forget it when you exit the ride vehicle. Another quick tip is to be sure to keep your eyeglass lenses clean so you have the best possible vision through both sets of glasses.

Emily, I hope this information is helpful to you and that you will be enveloped in the wonder of Disney Imagineering 4D magic soon! Please let us know if you have other questions.

Remember, like Mirabel, you are the magic,
