We are going to Disney World in Nov. w/our 6 yr old son on the Disney dining plan.He is not going to want to eat kid meal options. He will want sushi or teriyaki chicken at Teppan Edo, or sweet and sour chicken at Yak & Yeti for example. Any suggestion

Hi, Rinny!  You would be surprised at how often we are asked the exact opposite question - kids that are just over the 9 year old mark and considered an adult who still want to be able to order from the children's menu.  This is kind of refreshing!

If you are on a dining plan, your son's credits will be for the children's menu.  Now, that sounds like it might not be a good thing, but not so fast.  There are some great options available for children at many Walt Disney World restaurants.  At Teppan Edo, for example, he will be able to order shrimp, chicken or an all vegetable meal; and at Tokyo Dining, the children's menu includes both teriyaki chicken and a California roll.

At Nine Dragons in the China pavilion at EPCOT, the kids menu features sweet and sour shrimp or honey chicken.  There's also a great deluxe entree with shrimp and chicken that is enough for an average sized adult to enjoy.

If there isn't anything on the children's menu that your child will eat, please ask to see a member of the culinary team.  In some cases, they may be able to alter something on the regular menu to make it a more suitable option for your little one.  You can also always opt to pay out of pocket for an appetizer from the adult menu for him.

Have a great time on your upcoming vacation!
