Hi Kerry! So nice to see you here at the Moms Panel again!
I think you have chosen a
"most wonderful time of the year" to visit Walt Disney World Resort. The weather is generally pleasant, and since most schools are in session at that time it should not be as busy as holiday weeks. That being said, I always assume it will be extremely busy when I visit. That way I'm prepared to expect crowds, and if it happens to be less busy, I can be pleasantly surprised!
Holiday decorations will start going up at the beginning of November, so I would expect the parks and Resort Hotels to pretty much be fully decorated by the time of your visit. The decorations are themed to each particular Resort Hotel or Theme Park area. I had the opportunity to visit
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort last November, and was so impressed with the tropical Christmas decor. I had never before seen poinsettias in those colors!
Every Resort Hotel will have it's own unique holiday decor. Listen closely to the music you'll hear playing - it is also themed! At your Resort, you'll hear Christmas carols with a Calypso twist. It is this attention to detail that keeps me coming back to visit Walt Disney World again and again. You are welcome to visit any of the Resort Hotels to take in their special holiday ambiance. Keep in mind that at some times of the year, parking is restricted to registered Guests of that Resort Hotel and those with dining or activity reservations. I recommend planning to use Disney's complimentary
resort transportation to visit other Resorts. While
every Resort Hotel will have amazing decorations, I would say you'll find the best of the best at
Disney's Deluxe Resort Hotels. Among my favorites are
Disney's Wilderness Lodge and
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. The
Gingerbread House here is always a must-see, and the entire lobby smells like gingerbread!
I hope that helps! Feel free to visit us again anytime if you have additional questions. Enjoy your stay!
