Bright suns and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Angela! Just two more "sleeps" until your journey to Batuu... how exciting! I was fortunate to experience
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance this week. At the dedication ceremony, Bob Chapek, the Chairman of Disney Parks, called it "the most ambitious, immersive, advanced, action-packed attraction we've ever created!" Guests will truly feel like they are stepping inside a Star Wars film...it is a surreal experience to be inside a Star Destroyer!
As expected, Rise of the Resistance has been extremely popular. In anticipation of the demand this week, Walt Disney World Resort executives have set up a temporary "virtual queue," allowing guests who have entered the Park to check-in through the My Disney Experience app and join a Boarding Group. When it is your turn, a Push Notification is sent to your mobile device to allow you and your fellow adventurers to accept the mission and join the Resistance.
If you have young padawans traveling with you who don't meet the 40-inch height requirement or don't wish to ride, you can utilize Disney's
Rider Switch Service, which allows parents to avoid waiting in line twice while taking turns on attractions. However, you must make sure to join a Boarding Group first to do so. Once your Boarding Group is called, let a Cast Member working the attraction queue know you'd like to partake in Rider Switch, and they will be happy to help you.
Angela, I know Rey and BB8 are anxiously awaiting your arrival. Ignite the Spark!
