Hi Ashley,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I think your husband will feel better and be excited to celebrate once you all are together. There's something about the magic of the Walt Disney World Resort to bring out the kid in us all. There are great places to dine and celebrate his 40th birthday around Walt Disney World. Many of the Disney Resort Hotels have fabulous fine dining options on property. The
re-imagined California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort has new tastes for the menu that I am sure your husband would enjoy. I recently had the opportunity to dine at California Grill and it was delightful. The atmosphere was entertaining and the food was fantastic.
If your husband would enjoy a special couple's dinner with you, ask his family to keep your daughter for a few hours. You two could head over to Downtown Disney area and have a nice dinner at
Raglan Road™ Irish Pub and Restaurant. I would suggest their spectacular shepherd's pie. Master Chef Kevin Dundon has an outstanding menu full of delicious choices. My wife and I love dining at Raglan Road. It has become our "date night" spot whenever we are visiting Walt Disney World with family, and they don't mind watching our kids. Another favorite spot of ours is
Ghirardelli Ice Cream & Chocolate Shop. It would be a perfect place for a yummy dessert after dinner.
Please let me know if I can help you with any follow-up questions as your Walt Disney World Resort vacation approaches.
Have a magical day,
Bob A.
