We are going to Disney World for the first time with our 3 kids and will be landing at 6:15pm and staying at the Wilderness lodge. Where and when should I try to make our dinner reservation since we're not using park tickets that day?

    Hello Jen,
What luck that you're staying at the Wilderness Lodge, home to one of my family's hands-down favorite restaurants, Whispering Canyon Cafe! This table service restaurant features a fantastic array of delicious dishes, including rainbow trout, pork ribs and my personal favorite, the build your own platter, which is served as an all you can eat option with veggies, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes and baked beans on the side. The added bonus for this is the very relaxed atmosphere provided by the waitstaff (hint-be sure to ask for ketchup) that makes the entire meal a lot of fun. Final enticement for this incredible place: you can order (drumroll, please) bottomless milkshakes! That's right, after a long day of travel, you can enjoy all the chocolate, vanilla and strawberry milkshakes you can drink.

With your arrival time, I would suggest allowing two hours to get from the airport to your resort, so an 8:30 pm dinner reservation should allow you enough time to travel.

Jen, I hope you and your family have a fantastic time vacationing at the Walt Disney World Resort! Please come back and see us if you have any additional questions.

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
