We are going to be at Disney World during the 2009 Walt Disney World Marathon and wondered if this event would cause the parks to be busier then usual? I love the site and all the great advise you all give. Thank you

    Hi Glenda,

I have been to the parks during Marathon weekend and have not thought them to be crowded. I think the crowds have been light.

Many of the participants are local so they come in just for the day. Also, the runners are going to be doing light touring before and after the race. The runners have an early start time, and my husband was up some years, depending on where we stayed, at 5:00 am.

One piece of advice is to check the weather before hand. The three times I have been to Disney for this event, I have had completely different weather. Also, the full marathon ends in EPCOT, so while the rides may not be busy, the spectators will be.

If you can see the race, enjoy it as it is fun to cheer on the runners!
