Hi, Samantha! Thanks for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at
Magic Kingdom Park provides Guests with Christmas magic year-round. Here you’ll find personalized Christmas ornaments and a wide range of decorative elements including wreaths and snowglobes, too. I love the details including the sign out front advertising “Music & Voice Lessons by appointment only” from instructor Ichabod Crane (who you may remember as the schoolmaster from The Legend of Sleepy Hollow) and the sled out front that provides a wonderful photo opportunity.
If you’re the first family to enter the Shoppe, you may be selected to decorate the small Christmas tree that resides in the corner. This experience is always subject to change, and isn’t really anything you can sign up for in advance. I would recommend checking the
Park Hours to see what time Magic Kingdom Park will open on the day you’ll be there and plan to get there early if this is an experience you have your heart set on. You can enter Magic Kingdom Park up to an hour before the Park officially opens, and make your way to the area in front of the stage at
Cinderella Castle. To the left of the Castle, you can make your way to the rope that separates the central area from Liberty Square where you can wait for the rope to drop at the official opening time. Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe will be the first building on your left as you cross the bridge into Liberty Square.
When you leave Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, I would recommend popping right across the sidewalk to
Sleepy Hollow Refreshments for an excellent Quick Service breakfast. My favorite item on the menu is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich--an absolute must for each of our
Walt Disney World Resort vacations.
I hope you get to experience this opportunity, Samantha, but please don’t fret if you don’t! Walt Disney World Resort is absolutely magical year-round, but
Christmastime is my favorite time of the year to visit. Make sure you take time to check out all of the decorations around the Theme Parks, but also in the
Walt Disney World Resort hotels, too.
Please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with as you plan your magical vacation. We're always happy to help.
Amy
