Hi James!
Happy Holidays! I may be a little early for that, but the Christmas decorations at Walt Disney World make me so ho-ho-happy that I can't help it! Honestly, the trees, lights, and decorations are so spectacular that I could spend the entire holiday season traveling from resort to resort and park to park just soaking in the atmosphere.
Luck for you (and me!) the holiday season at Walt Disney World is a fair bit of time. You'll notice the first decorations starting to appear at the Magic Kingdom right before
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party kicks off the season on November 8, 2020. The park is transformed from Halloween jack-o-lanterns and pumpkins to Christmas trees, lights and decorations seemingly overnight! The party is a must-do event. From the special fireworks celebration to enhanced rides (the Jingle Cruise AKA the
Jungle Cruise is my favorite!) to snow on Main St. U.S.A., there is something for everyone. And, of course, don't miss the milk and cookies!
As November progresses, you'll find that each Walt Disney World resort is given its own special touches as well.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa will even host a
life-sized gingerbread house that serves as a bake shop for all sorts of Christmas treats! We often spend an afternoon traveling to each of the monorail resorts so that we can take in all of the different sights!
Each of the other theme parks will also celebrate the holidays as well. No matter where you travel, you'll spot something special. Don't forget Disney Springs as well. The
Christmas Tree Trail was super popular last year and
hosted over 1 million guests! While we don't have the official dates for the trail for this year, the 2019 trail opened in early November as well.
I hope you have fun planning a magical holiday trip! Don't hesitate to visit us again at the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can help with additional trip planning details.
