We are going to be at Disney World in December for 4 days. We are a family of 7 - grandparents, children & 2 grandchildren(6 & 4). We are trying to decide between the Caribbean Beach Hotel & Port Orleans Riverside - which would you recommend.

    Hi Linda,

My vote would be Port Orleans Riverside.  Even though I loved the Caribbean Beach for my honeymoon, Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite moderate resort.

I would ask to stay in the Mansions as they are laid out nicer than Alligator Bayou.  (If you are requesting rooms next to one another, remember adjacent rooms share an inside door; adjoining do not.) I also love the food court and the swimming hole at this resort.

In addition, since you will be on the bus to travel to all of the parks, this resort is smaller than Caribbean Beach so the buses tend to be less crowded.  This will be a nice feature when you are returning home after a day of touring and you are trying to manage two children, a stroller and souvenirs!

Finally, if you are planning to head to Downtown Disney, you can take the boats over and feel like you are on the 'Ole Mississippi!
