    When does Disney world celebrate their 45th birthday?

    Hi John,

    Thanks for stopping by the Moms Panel once again. Questions like yours instantly excite the amateur Disney historian in me. Walt Disney World will celebrate its 45th anniversary in 2016. Walt Disney World Resort opened with the Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971. Magic Kingdom Park remained the only theme park at Walt Disney World until Epcot opened (as EPCOT Center) on October 1, 1982.

    I would suggest following the Disney Parks Blog for any special anniversary announcements, and of course checking back here with the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
