Going to Disney World FL in April ,one of my Military buddies offered to get me tickets from the Military Base here in SD California . My worry is , will we need him to be present or present a military ID?I don't want to find this out when we get to FL

Hi Adan, and welcome to planDisney, I am excited to hear you'll be visiting Walt Disney World Resort in April. It's one of my favorite times of the year to visit. The weather in Orlando this time of year is great, and there are so many fun events happening, that I will get to. But first, let's break down the military tickets.

Let's talk about military tickets. There are two types, the Military Disney tickets (formerly known as the Armed Forces Salute), and Magic Your Way tickets. The Military Disney tickets are 4, 5, or 6-day tickets at a steep discount, but these are reserved only for active duty, retirees, and 100% disabled Veterans. The service member needs to be present at the theme park to "activate" the tickets using their military ID at Guest Relations. The Magic Your Way tickets are theme park tickets sold at a slight discount, but they are already "activated". Your friend does not need to be present to use these tickets. Both of these ticket types are sold in the ITT/MWR offices at military installations. Make sure your friend gets the Magic Your Way tickets for Walt Disney World!

Disney vacations in April mean you'll be visiting during the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, one of my favorite times of the year! Enjoy dining "around" the world at various outdoor kitchens throughout EPCOT, have fun finding all of your favorite character topiaries, and enjoy live music at the Garden Rocks Concert Series, which plays select nights throughout the festival. It's so fun, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. If you are a night owl and want to enjoy the parks past closing, consider booking Disney After Hours at Hollywood Studios, or at Magic Kingdom.

Adan, I hope all of this information helps you today. Stop by planDisney again with other questions you may have before your visit. Happy planning!
