We are going on the Disney Wonder our of San Diego at the end of April. We have two young kids who require carseats. What is the best transportation options for getting to the airport on disembarkation day?

    Hi Lindsey,

Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so glad you sailed by with your wonderful question.

You and your little crew will enjoy your time aboard Disney Wonder. She is one of my favorite ships! You won't want to leave, but alas you must, so let's think through some transportation options.

You will be glad to know that the trip from the port to the San Diego airport is a quick one. Usually, it is about a 15-minute ride door-to-door, so whichever option you choose the ride should be simple. One option is to purchase Disney Ground Transfers.  Currently, the price is $18 per person, though Guests aged 3 and under are free. (Prices are subject to change). Disney Ground Transportation options may include a motorcoach, mini-bus, or taxi, depending on arrival time and party size. Guests who bring a car seat and are being transferred on a motorcoach will need to stow the car seat in the luggage compartment underneath the motorcoach, as the motorcoaches do not have any seatbelts to secure a car seat. The other transportation options should allow for car seats. However, there is no guarantee that you will be in one of the vehicles with seatbelts. I recommend calling Disney Cruise Line to inquire if specific options are available.

Other Guests recommend using one of the app-based ride services. In my experience, these services offer seatbelts so you can secure the car seats. You could also enlist a private car service. A quick internet search should provide some options but make sure to read reviews.

While you are onboard, you and your kids will have many options for enjoying your time together! From entertainment to pool time to family-friendly activities, there is never a dull moment. If you want to enjoy some adult-only time, your kids won't mind since they can enjoy the kids' clubs. I can't wait for you all to enjoy the Rotational Dining options aboard Disney Wonder. My favorite is Tiana's Place, where the festive entertainment is sure to keep your kids, and you, happy!

Lindsey, please let us know if you have other questions; we are happy to help our fellow Guests make the most of their vacation!

    Wishing you many magical memories,
    Shannon
