Welcome aboard, Janet!
I must say that I'm a bit envious that you live in Texas, where you can more easily get over to Galveston to set sail with Disney Cruise Line! I'm land-locked up here in Ohio, so our cruise vacations always start out with a flight, no matter from which home port we're sailing.
My family and I have sailed a few times from Galveston with Disney Cruise Line, and absolutely loved our experiences in that port city before heading out to sea. We stayed the nights before the cruise each time at Disney Cruise Line's partner resort, the Hotel Galvez, which made our transitions from land to sea and back again so easy since they offer optional transfers to the port, and Disney picked up our luggage right from the hotel that morning. If you're looking to stay the night prior, I highly recommend it!
The
attire for your seven-night Wonder cruise will include five Cruise Casual nights, (one of which will be Pirate Night), one Semi-Formal night, usually the last sea day before you debark, and one Formal Night, usually the first sea day. I love these dressier nights when our whole family looks spectacular together, as we don't often have the chance back home for all of us to wear formalwear, so we take quite a few pictures on those nights. Even your favorite Disney friends will be out in their formalwear that evening, so be sure to check your Personal Navigator or the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for Character Greeting times! I have the cutest picture of my son when he was three in a tiny little tuxedo with Mickey is his tux! Don't worry, most guests don't wear tuxes, though some do, but we saw this little tux and just had to get it for him! He even had a Mickey Mouse bow tie to wear with it! Too cute!
Have such fun planning, Janet!
