I have my Disney Vacation planned for May 7-11 & being in the parks the 8,9, & 10. I found out there is a cheer competition May 4-6 and May 11-13, so our vacation is right in the middle. How will this effect the crowds? Should I change my dates?

    Dear Morgan,

Thank you so much for stopping by to visit us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great planning question for your upcoming visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!

May is an absolutely fantastic time of year to visit the Walt Disney World Resort, with beautiful weather and typically slightly lower crowds than during school summer vacations!

I would not be concerned about the cheerleading competitions being near the same time that you are there. You will definitely see groups of cheerleaders and their parents while you are in the parks, but mostly you will likely not notice any particular change in crowds since there are always lots of events around anyway! Additionally, many families will go back home when the competitions are done because their students have to head back to school.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
